Tidus (Season 1 - Present)
Before arriving in Riyona Village, Tidus was a star Blitzer in Zanarkand, son of Jecht, another celebrity of Blitzball. During a game, a giant wave created by a giant creature, known only as Sin, destroyed parts of the city, forcing Tidus to flee with a friend of his father's, Auron. Despite their efforts to fight off the creature, the duo were pulled into a vortex, and when Tidus exited, found himself in the future world of Spira, set a thousand years after the occurrence. After being rescued by a mysterious group of river divers who are of the Al Bhed race, Tidus began to learn the truth of this strange world and soon found himself at Besaid Island, home of a Blitzball team called the Besaid Aurochs and the beautiful summoner, Yuna. He agrees to travel with Yuna, her guardians, and the Aurochs, and soon becomes a guardian as well on Yuna's journey to end the reign of Sin and bring peace to the world.
Then accompanied by Auron and one of the Al Bhed divers, Rikku, the group set off to collect Aeons, beasts called upon by a summoner to aid in her journey to defeat Sin, and travel to Guadosalam. While there, Yuna agreed to marry Seymour Guado, another recognizable name in Spira, in order to bring the people of the world any joy she can. However, after discovering Seymour's true intentions to become the next Sin, Yuna backed out and the group destroyed him, leaving him unsent to the Farplane, however. At the same time, Tidus and Yuna began to fall in love. Much to his dismay, Tidus learned that in order to complete her pilgrimage for peace, Yuna must sacrifice her self to do so. To add further insult to injury, Auron explained that Jecht, Tidus' father, was actually the current incarnation of Sin and that those from Zanarkand were a dream of the Fayth, a being similar to Aeons that initially aided Yevon, a ruler of Zanarkand, in the creation of Sin, during an attempt to protect the dream city.
When the group arrived at Zanarkand, they learned from Lady Yunalesca, who was Yevon's daughter and the first summoner to have defeated Sin, that the Final Aeon is created from the spirit of one close to a summoner, and that when Sin is defeated, Yu Yevon's spirit would possess it, transforming it into a new Sin. Furthermore, it was revealed that Auron himself is an unsent, having been killed by Yunalesca ten years earlier. The group battled and defeated the former summoner, and struggled to find a way to defeat Sin that would not require sacrifices.
The group entered Sin with an airship, then fought and defeated Seymour, Jecht, and Yu Yevon, which ended Sin's rebirth cycle once and for all. Auron entered the Farplane and the dream of the Fayth finally returned to peace, causing the aeons and any beings that were a part of Dream Zanarkand to disappear, including Tidus. After saying goodbye to his love Yuna, Tidus willingly returned to the Fayth, disappearing into the sky. However, unknown to him at the time, his journey was far from over.
Soon after these events, Tidus appeared in Riyona, once again unsure of where he had been transported to. A few days later, Auron appeared to Tidus in a dream, informing him that this world was where he was meant to make his new home, for the time being. Trusting his former mentor, Tidus did so, and soon got a job working for Kiba at his cafe, renting the apartment upstairs. A few days later, he was asked to pick up an order from a house near the woods of the village, where he meets Vincent, Miyo, and her other companions from the story. He soon joined their group and met Naomi, who he felt a deep connection to, reminding him of Yuna. Both joy and hardship await Tidus and his new friends, as the journey for their existence in this world continues.
